Advising Service

Advising for my students is available on a drop-in basis along the academic year. In order to make use of this service, an appointment is required. Please follow the next steps:

1. Select the preferred date and time for the appointment from my Advising Timetable (included later in this document).
2. Verify that I'm going to be available in office the day of the appointment, checking my Notice Board.
3. Contact me by e-Mail at least 24 hours before the meeting in order to inform me about the time and date of your visit. I will send you a confirmation e-Mail within the next 48 hours (on working days).

1. The appointment request must be received at least 24 hours before the meeting.
2. The Advising Service is not provided by e-Mail, since this communication channel has showed to be ambiguous and prone to lead to misconceptions when it is used to teach engineering skills. e-Mails of this kind will no be answered!
3. My Advising Service is designed to provide guidance about the specializations and the graduate program but not to solve exam problems of any kind. My goal is to avoid students working on how to answer exams questions, instead of mastering their knowledge in real-life engineering problems.

Advising Timetable

I try to adapt my timetable to provide this service as close in space and in time as possible to my students, so it usually changes whenever my classes timetable changes too (usually twice per semester). Due to these updates I recommend to check this timetable prior to use the service.

At the moment, I provide advising service on:

The Advising Service is replaced by the Usability Cafe initiative every week coinciding with this event (usually, the first Thursday of each month). In this case, the advising service is dedicated to discuss about Usability.

Erasmus

At this moment, I'm the coordinator of several interchange agreements for students of the University of Oviedo, which are funded by the European Commission's Erasmus programme.

If you would like to participate in such interchanges, I would plead you to visit the web site of the International Office of the University of Oviedo and the Erasmus site of the Education and Training section of the European Commission, where you will find detailed information on how to participate in the programme.

1. Only students of the EII-Uniovi may participate in this agreement.
2. English language examination is required.
3. There is not a Final Degree Project in the host university. However, I recommend to develop it there under the guidance of a teacher of the University of Oviedo, performing the final dissertation in Spain.
